We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Receivable Specialist who will work in our Architectural Building Supply branch in Salt Lake City, UT.

Established in 1955, The Cook & Boardman Group, LLC ("C&B") is a privately-owned technical services business and specialty distributor. C&B is the nation's leading distributor of architectural hardware, doors, door frames and related building products for non-residential building applications throughout the United States.


The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for completing monthly pay applications, collection of all credit sales, preparing/mailing customer statements and working with the corporate credit department as needed. This person will work in direct support of the Accounting Manager. A qualified applicant should have accounts receivable knowledge and experience.

Essential Functions

  • Complete monthly pay applications and lien waivers as needed
  • Verify contract value and schedule of values match project set up in Advantage
  • File notices of Intent to Lien/Liens/Bond Claims
  • Reconcile AR payments to customer accounts and resolve disputes
  • Petty cash distribution and reconciliation
  • General collections
  • Prepare and mail customer statements
  • Review AR aging reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Business related field OR equivalent experience
  • Basic knowledge of Accounting practices and applications
  • Excellent Excel experience and skill required
  • High attention to detail, self-motivated, and the ability to work independently
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Comsense knowledge preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting including thorough skills knowledge plus the application of general accounting theory
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint software programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
