We are currently recruiting for an Administrative Assistant to join our Cook & Boardman corporate office in Winston Salem, North Carolina

Established in 1955, The Cook & Boardman Group, LLC ("C&B") is a privately-owned technical services business and specialty distributor. C&B is the nation's leading distributor of architectural hardware, doors, doorframes, and related building products for non-residential building applications throughout the United States.


This position serves as the Corporate Administrative Assistant and will report to the Vice President, Human Resources. The position will also support all departments within the Corporate office on an as needed basis. There will be set reoccurring responsibilities from each department and projects on an ongoing basis.


Essential Functions:

  • Support a range of administrative activities related to projects, business operations, and external vendors.
  • Conduct research and concisely disseminate information learned.
  • Communicate with multiple contacts at branch offices nationwide.
  • Arranging and organizing internal and external events
  • Execute and maintain calendars and schedules
  • Prepare and handle confidential and personnel information
  • Organize, maintain and procure office supplies and other items
  • Screen phone inquiries in a professional, courteous and helpful manner and delegate to appropriate contact
  • Greet visitors to the organization in a professional, welcoming and helpful manner
  • Assist with all other duties as required by the CEO, CFO, COO and other members of Corporate Management

  • Organized, detail oriented and proactively seeks solutions to issues without frequent need for assistance
  • Self-starter, independent thinker, desires challenging new projects where problem solving and analytical skills are used
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities of a changing workload
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Must have strong interpersonal, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to develop a work schedule, set goals, create/implement actions plans and monitor progress towards goals
  • Ability to change focus of work seamlessly without loss of efficiency, and adapt to unexpected requests

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree Required, Bachelor's preferred
  • Great aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Excellent at Multi-tasking and Extremely Detail Oriented
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Customer Service skills required
