We are currently recruiting for a Contract Manager to join the corporate office of Cook & Boardman in Winston Salem, North Carolina.  Established in 1955, The Cook & Boardman Group, LLC ("C&B") is a privately-owned technical services business and specialty distributor. C&B is the nation's leading distributor of architectural hardware, doors, doorframes, and related building products for non-residential building applications throughout the United States.


The Contract Manager is responsible for the administration and execution of all contract documents in all company locations. This position manages contracts, negotiates certain terms and conditions, facilitates contract execution and ensures compliance with contract provisions. This position works closely with credit personnel to ensure efficient operations and strong cash flow.


 Essential Functions:

  • Reviews contacts companywide, also establishes contract templates as needed
  • Completes and submits monthly/quarterly update reports for upper management
  • Coordinates with the credit department on the execution of all required partial and final lien waivers in accordance with contract specifications
  • Works closely with sales and project management teams to ensure compliance with terms of agreement, accuracy of contract pricing and all changes throughout the course of the project
  • Responds to requests for prequalification information required by contractors in order to effectively participate in the bid process
  • Reacts to requests for analysis of amounts owed from subcontracts, purchase orders, work orders, change orders, or invoices and consults with Credit Manager when a discrepancy in amount billed or paid arises.
  • Works closely with credit department to coordinate billing and accounts receivable needs of Cook & Boardman, enabling the highest possible collection rates
  • Reacts to requests from sales and project management to review bid packages and assure compliance with specifications and deadlines
  • Special projects as assigned relating to other departments within Corporate including but not limited to legal research and review
  • Works closely and cordially with other associates in the accounting/finance section, sales, project management or other functions to assure high levels of customer service and internal efficiency
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Experience working in Comsense and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
  • Great attention to detail required
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing demands

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Contract Law and Terminology
  • Accurate mathematical and accounting skills / general business financial aptitude & understanding required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • A working knowledge of the construction billing process and contractual terms.
  • Ability to travel to other Cook and Boardman locations
