We are currently recruiting for a Systems Administrator to join our Infrastructure & Operations team, this individual will work out of our Winston Salem Corporate OfficeEstablished in 1955, The Cook & Boardman Group, LLC ("C&B") is a privately-owned technical services business and specialty distributor. C&B is the nation's leading distributor of architectural hardware, doors, doorframes, and related building products for non-residential building applications throughout the United States.  Our team supports more than 1,000 employees nationwide.

Summary:

You will be part of Cook & Boardman's Infrastructure & Operations team, which is on a mission to delight our coworkers who rely on our internal systems like Desktops, Laptops, Thin Clients, Smartphones, Wi-Fi Access Points, Switches, Routers, Storage Networks, Virtual Servers, and internally developed software tools. You will be focused on day to day IT Operations, Service Desk Requests, Recurring Maintenance, and IT Projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for day to day operations of all IT Systems
  • Manages & participates in strategic, acquisition related, and continuous improvement projects
  • Takes and active role in recurring maintenance activities
  • Participates as an active member of the Service Desk

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of previous Systems Administration experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team and provide exceptional service
  • Follow-through and persistence is essential
  • Experience deploying and managing a Windows 2012R2 Remote Desktop Services Environment
  • Experience deploying and managing a VMware vSphere environment (5.5 and later)
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Exchange Server or Exchange Online
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Active Directory
  • Experience completing Windows server backups and recovery
  • Demonstrated experience with Corporate Antivirus Systems 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Windows 7, 8, 10 Professional
  • Fundamental understanding of routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Experience supporting other corporate business functions 

Experience with the following would be great, but not mandatory:

  • Experience deploying and managing Microsoft SCCM
  • Experience with VOIP and Shoretel Phone System
  • Knowledge of Windows PowerShell
  • Deploying and Managing Cisco UCS
  • Working within a multi-location environment using MPLS or BOVPN technologies
  • Design, installation, and administration experience with Storage Area Networks (iSCSI/NFS)
  • Fundamental understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity concepts
