We are currently recruiting for an Industrial Sales Support position to work in our Precision Doors and Hardware division in Alexandria, Virginia.  

Established in 1955, The Cook & Boardman Group, LLC ("C&B") is a privately-owned technical services business and specialty distributor. C&B is the nation's leading distributor of architectural hardware, doors, doorframes, and related building products for non-residential building applications throughout the United States.  C&B's operating units include Cook & Boardman, LLC; Precision Doors & Hardware, LLC; Architectural Building Supply, LLC; Martin Architectural Products; Hollow Metal Specialists; Hardware Consultants; Precision Millwork; Delta Door and Hardware; Pinnacle Door & Hardware, Specialized AP and RDL Supply. Today, C&B operates from 31 locations and serves customers throughout the United States.


Industrial Sales Support personnel work hand-in-hand with the end user sales team to provide complete customer service.  They assist the end user sales team with all aspects of quoting, order entry and coordination and handle other assigned tasks as delegated. This position requires excellent communication and problem solving skills. This is a demanding position where there are multiple tasks that need to be handled at the same time.

Essential Functions

  • Process material orders
  • Generate purchase orders for materials
  • Coordinate material shipments through the vendor as well as internal shipping department
  • Assist sales team with machining sheets on wood door orders when appropriate
  • Generate quotes as requested by customers and sales team
  • Work with outside vendors to obtain pricing for materials needed
  • Process customer returns and warranty returns
  • Assists customers with product information
  • Handle internet bidding requests
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 year degree or related experience in similar construction or building material industry required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

  • Strong computer skills

This job operates in a fast paced, demanding professional office environment. Successful candidate will be a self-starter, team player, deadline and goal oriented.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, calculators, phones, photocopiers, fax machines and filing cabinets.
