We are currently recruiting for a National Accounts Project Manager  who will work in our Cook & Boardman location in Winston-Salem, NC.

Established in 1955 The Cook & Boardman Group, LLC is a privately owned engineering services and specialty distributor-subcontractor. C&B is the premier provider of architectural hardware, doors, doorframes, and related building specialties for non-residential building applications throughout the US. C&B's operating units include Cook & Boardman, LLC; Precision Doors & Hardware, LLC; Architectural Building Supplies, LLC; Martin Architectural Products; Hollow Metal Specialists; Hardware Consultants; Precision Millwork; Exactitude,; Delta Door and Hardware; Pinnacle Door & Hardware and RDL Supply. Today, we operated from 23 locations and serve customers across the United States.


Position will work closely with our Director of National Business Development to assist with customer orders, estimating and detailing within our project management software system, following up with customers to successfully close work, managing and communicating upcoming shipments and deliveries to ensure completion of the project. Individual will assist in all facets of project management within department. Individual will adhere to and promote The Cook & Boardman Group values by performing duties in a manner that is consistent with being a team player and supports the continued growth of the company.

Essential Functions

  • Estimating both Division 8 and Division 10 as required for retail, restaurant and hospitality projects we have been invited to bid
  • Maintain an organized system to track outstanding projects bid
  • Work with select General Contractors to follow up and close outstanding work
  • Work internally and externally to coordinate deliveries, print picking and packing slips for shipments, with close attention paid to execution and timeliness of deadlines
  • Track outstanding purchase orders and contact manufactures directly concerning ship dates and lead times
  • Create and submit customer quotes as required
  • Assist in setting up projects within our system
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous work experience within the industry
  • Construction industry knowledge required
  • Intermediate to advanced level of experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Professional, Outlook, and web based applications required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong project management skills, process oriented, highly organized, and quality focused with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects
  • Must be an excellent communicator and able to demonstrate success and experience communicating with major accounts customers and large contracts
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills, competency in grammar and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels, internal and/or external to the organization and respond to client service issues in a courteous and professional manner
  • Work well independently and as well as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges and opportunities as our company continues to grow

Work Environment

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May occasionally require travel to project sites. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware.
