We are currently recruiting for a Door & Hardware Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative to work in our Delta Door and Hardware division in Memphis, Tennessee.

C&B is the nation's leading distributor of architectural hardware, doors, doorframes, and related building products for non-residential building applications throughout the United States.  C&B's operating units include Cook & Boardman, LLC; Precision Doors & Hardware, LLC; Architectural Building Supply, LLC; Martin Architectural Products; Hollow Metal Specialists; Hardware Consultants; Precision Millwork; Exactitude; Delta Door and Hardware and RDL Supply. Today, C&B operates from 22 locations across ten states and serves customers throughout the United States.

Summary

Full-time position, responsible for providing customer service and product sales to walk in and phone in customers including property managers, facility oweners and light commercial contractors. A qualified applicant should have experience with commercial door hardware and keying.  Reading and interpreting blueprints and a working knowledge of commercial doors, frames and hardware will be very helpful.

Essential Functions

  • Customer service skills
  • Provide quotes based on blueprints or customer direction
  • Meet planned sales and margin expectations
  • Coordinate sales of assigned accounts monitoring product and delivery needs
  • Represent the company knowledgeably and professionally
  • Provide solutions to customers relating to material procurement, distribution and application
  • Perform bid reviews to ensure we are priced profitably and competitively
  • Conduct telemarketing calls at slow periods to proactively look for new business
  • Facilitate customer relations between all branch location departments and customer
  • Prepares and inputs orders as needed and researches and orders special products as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years relevant work experience preferred
  • Customer service and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge and experience with commercial construction 
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Detail-oriented
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, calculators, phones, photocopiers, fax machines and filing cabinets.  Other conditions may inculde proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware.
